When you don’t have garden space you can plant your garden in buckets. This will work in a small backyard, on a patio or even on an apartment balcony. Tomatoes like deep roots so the 5 gallon buckets are a good choice. Many times you can get the buckets for free from your local sandwich deli or bakery.

I planted about 39 tomatoes in buckets in addition to the 20 plants in the garden raised beds.
